Hatteras had the fantastic opportunity to work closely with Ford Motor Company and Civic Entertainment on the Michigan Central Station Grand Opening Event.

We started this top-secret project with the Community Outreach Program six weeks before the event to promote it.  We produced products from every department at Hatteras to encourage community awareness of the upcoming event.

We then quickly transitioned into planning and producing all the different products used for the event on the grounds and inside the station. We were trusted with significant access and were involved with everything from the fence scrim surrounding Roosevelt Park to all of the feather flags and various forms of signage used to direct and communicate with event attendees.

As the event drew closer, the pace became very high, and we worked seven days a week for the three weeks leading up to the concert. This culminated with Dave and I installing a wall graphic in the train station the night before the event as Jack White and Eminem did sound checks. We had total access and did our little mini-tour of the station.

Our Hatteras team performed like the seasoned veterans.  Special thanks to Dave Middlewood for going above and beyond on this project. Thanks to Robert Kobliska and John McAfee for meeting the timing and multiple requests. Thank you to  Mike Mays for running a complex shuttle delivery service for two weeks. Lastly, Jeff, Kevin, James, Becky, and Mike & Helen Townes for coming in on weekends to help print and fold last-minute requests. When we walked into the headlining concert, we had an incredible and remarkable experience. I told my wife and daughter, "Literally everything you see visually, we produced."
