How Tariffs Could Affect Promotional Items

Featured Image

Promotional products have become vital in how we connect with customers, celebrate events, and build brand recognition. From custom pens and sunglasses to drinkware and tech gadgets, these items are often sourced from a global supply chain. As tariff policies evolve, companies may wonder how potential changes could impact their promotional strategies.

While the full impact of tariff changes is still unknown and depends on many factors, businesses can benefit by staying informed and flexible.

A potential area of impact is timing. If certain imported goods face delays due to customs or new compliance requirements, lead times for promotional campaigns may need to be adjusted. For businesses planning months in advance, especially around trade shows, seasonal events, or product or service launches, this is a good time to revisit timelines and build extra buffer for production and shipping.

The good news is that many distributors and suppliers have already diversified supply chains and are working to source similar products from multiple countries or increase access to USA-made options.

Please keep in mind that our in-house apparel decorating exclusively sources domestic t-shirts and fabric. This not only supports U.S.-based manufacturers but also allows greater control over price, quality, consistency, and turnaround time.

At Hatteras, we closely monitor the tariff landscape and will continue to work to protect our clients. Our priority is to continue offering creative, high-quality apparel and promotional items that deliver strong brand value.

If you have any questions, please feel free to reach out.
